Baby on board

Some sessions feel like slow, gentle stories—others, like joy exploding in real time. This maternity session in Northern Colorado was definitely the latter. From the moment we met, Amalia and her beautiful family brought warmth, energy, and the kind of vibrant connection that makes photography so much fun.

We met in the golden summer light just outside Fort Collins, and from the very first frame, I could feel the love between them radiating. Most people need time to warm up in front of the camera—not this family. They dove right into the moment with laughter and movement, fully present and unafraid to be themselves. It’s families like this that make sessions so unforgettable.

Amalia glowed with that grounded, maternal magic that’s so beautiful to witness—and even more beautiful to capture. Her son was already stepping into his role as big brother, sweetly talking to his little sister in Mama’s belly, completely enchanted by the new life growing within her. You could see how deeply connected they are, and how this new season is already reshaping their story.

We incorperated games like Red Light, Green Light and tag, but even amid the fun, there were these breathtaking moments of stillness. The quiet way they held each other. The strength and ease of their partnership. And then—that kiss in the water. The soft ripples, the warm sun, the love pulling them in. It felt like watching a romance movie, where everything pauses and you just feel.

That’s what I love about being a maternity photographer in Northern Colorado. Whether I’m capturing families in the beautiful outdoors of Loveland, Windsor, Horestooth and beyond or nestled in a backyard, these moments of raw connection and real-life beauty are what I chase with my camera.

This session was about more than maternity photos, more than just a pregnancy—it was a celebration of motherhood, of growing families, and of the way love expands and deepens as life unfolds. These are the stories that matter. These are the memories I’m honored to help you preserve.
